On Thursday the 14th June, Togel Contractors Ltd hosted their 16th annual Golf day. This year’s event was in aid of the Chatsfield Suite at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The Chatsfield Suite is DRI’s Haemato-oncology Day unit. They offer a wide range of therapies for malignant and non-malignant diseases, which include chemotherapy and blood transfusions.
Over 80 golfers, making up 21 teams, played 18 holes, on an exceptionally windy day, at Doncaster Golf Club. The players started with refreshments and bacon rolls, followed by an outstanding trick shot show courtesy of Tricky Rob. The show was crammed full of humour, crowd participation, incredible athleticism and off the wall hand eye coordination. The competition began at 1:30pm with a Shotgun start.
As an extra treat for guests, Togel held a Hole in One competition, to win a £10,000 holiday with Kuoni, a yellow ball, nearest the pin and longest drive competition and a Beat the Pro event, with the brilliant Tricky Rob, some of which were rather comical!
Congratulations go to Dave Finch who didn’t let the tough competition, or the 45mph winds on the day, affect his game and walked away with the winner’s trophy a plethora of prizes
Through the sponsorship of over 30 businesses and support of the big-hearted golfers and guests Togel raised over £6,000 for the chosen cause. The cheque was recently presented to Lara Cunnane-Reay, Unit Manager of the Chatsfield Suite by Paul Leggott, Chairman, Bridget Kenny, Office Administrator & Katie Gillott, Marketing Co-ordinator. Upon receiving the cheque Lara commented “We can’t thank Togel Contractors enough for this amazing donation. Donations like these mean that we can offer our patients more than just treatment, we can offer them a place to come where they feel comfortable and extra support to help them through tough times.”
After visiting the unit Katie Gillott, Marketing Coordinator, Togel Contractors Ltd said: “Personally I think this year’s Golf Day was our best yet. The feedback we have received has been amazing but most importantly, I’m astounded at the generosity of all those involved. This is a cause close to our hearts and we are all delighted that the funds will be used towards improving the equipment and environment for the patients and their families. After meeting Lara, and the rest of the team, I’m positive we made the right decision. The dedication of all the staff is admirable and their drive to improve the unit is impressive. Their patients are certainly in the best hands!
We’d like to thank all the staff at the Chatsfield suite, the golfers, their companies and all our employees for the outstanding commitment and support they provide year on year.”
